Where were you when you accepted your role at Christie & Co?
I was a Senior Transaction Manager @ BNP Paribas REIM Germany
What was your first job?
Chef in the rated restaurant “Le Divellec” in Paris (two Michelin stars, best fish and sea food restaurant at that time)
In a couple of sentences, can you tell us a bit about your job at Christie & Co?
I returned to my professional roots, heading AVS and TS in Germany. Based on CCo’s unparalleled network and experience together with my own background of more than 30 years in the hospitality and real estate industry, I am leading my team trough the challenges of the pandemic crisis in order to be prepared for further development in Germany and the DACH region.
What’s your favourite thing about Christie & Co?
Team spirit, exchange of ideas and close cooperation.
If you had to pick a favourite project that you’ve worked on at Christie & Co so far, what would it be?
Not one single project navigating through theses uncharted times with a great team and the support of Lukas and the entire management team, is a great experience.
What’s been the biggest challenge of your career so far?
Trying to convince hotel owners of Accor’s asset light strategy in 2012/2013, when I was the responsible asset and investment manager of Accor Germany.
What’s been a highlight of your career so far?
Successfully building up and leading the German hospitality team at Deloitte from the scratch, starting as a one man show.
How has the industry changed since you started at Christie & Co?
I am only here since Jan, 1st 2020 – of course the pandemic situation has massively affected the business.
Who in your industry do you feel most inspired by?
Vincent Klink, a down to earth but very clever entrepreneur, chef, jazz-musician and author
Tell us a bit about your life outside work – what are your hobbies?
I love being out in the nature, hiking, skiing, biking, running and swimming. Over the last few years I started to participate in some triathlons, but only the short (so called Olympic) distance. Besides reading, joining concerts and other cultural events I have a passion for good food and cooking.
What’s your hometown? Where do you live now?
Where’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?
Jersey (despite a herniated disc and hospital stay on the island)
If you could live and work in any city, where would you go?
I already lived and worked in cities like Frankfurt, Paris and Montreal – however Munich is my favourite place
What would be your desert island meal?
Something simple -homemade pasta aglio, olio e peperoncino
What’s your favourite film?

A guy and his dog walk into a bar.
The guy asks the bartender: “My dog can speak. Can I get a free beer if he speaks with you?”
“Sure”, the bartender said, not believing the guy.
“Okay, dog”, says the guy. “What’s on top of a house?”
“Roof!”, the dog answers.
“That’s not speaking, that’s just barking”, the bartender says slightly amused.
“Wait, I’ll show you another thing, that’ll convince you - Dog, what does sandpaper feel like?”
“Rough!”, the dog answers while happily wagging its tail.
“Listen, guy, you’ve had your fun, but I got the joke”, the bartender remarks.

“Orff!”, the dog exclaimed.
The bartender loses his temper and shouts: “Alright, you two. I’ve had enough. Leave this bar!”
