Another hotel deal in Upper Austria: Christie & Co brokers sale of Hotel Aviva

Hotel property advisor, Christie & Co have sold the Hotel AVIVA, a reputable wellness and conference hotel in the Mühlviertel region in Upper Austria to Friedrich Huemer, CEO of the Hörsching-based automotive supplier, Polytec Gruppe.

Built in 2007, the Hotel AVIVA has established itself as a hotel geared towards single travellers, friends and seminar attendees with the motto ‘make friends’. The property comprises 102 individually designed bedrooms and suites overlooking the hilly landscape of the Mühlviertel. A spacious spa and wellness area including an indoor pool and a swimming lake in the garden, extensive sport and leisure facilities as well as a conference area with flexible meeting and function rooms complement the range. Only recently the rustic alpine chalet AVIVA-Alm was extended by a brewery, the “BrauBoutique“, offering home-brewed craft beers and serving as a venue for events. This is the second hotel deal facilitated by Christie & Co in Upper Austria in 2017. Earlier this year, the 176-bedroom 4-star business hotel Steigenberger in Linz changed hands also through Christie & Co.

Simon Kronberger, Senior Consultant Investment & Letting at Christie & Co’s Vienna office, who mediated the deal, comments; “The modern wellness and conference hotel AVIVA has caused a stir in the market with its unique offering and creative extensions and gained national market recognition as a result.

“We’ve seen growing demand for hotel properties in the region in general. Upper Austria is a promising and sought-after location for hotel investments. The growing popularity of the region as a holiday destination and its strong economy are reflected in the development of arrivals and overnight stays which have been on the increase for years.”

Other noteworthy transactions brokered by Christie & Co in recent years include the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Bad Leonfelden and Robinson Club Ampflwang (now ALDIANA).
